Through this intensive one day workshop, you will learn how to launch your creative ideas and personal imprint onto the Web.  Through a mixture of lecture and hands-on lab time, you will use Dreamweaver, the industry’s leading web design software program, to tackle the fundamental concepts and processes necessary for designing and implementing the most essential components of a website. Beginners welcome!

By the end of the course, you’ll have the knowledge to understand the primary do's and don'ts for the Web; lift up the hood to take a peek into to the realm of HTML and CSS; create and embed properly formatted, web-viewable images; embed audio, video, and interactive elements onto a webpage; successfully hunt for domain names and find a suitable host for your site.

Course Objectives

  • Develop a basic understanding of web page design, from creation to launch
  • Use  Dreamweaver to create simple but functional linked web pages
  • Learn the vernacular of digital media as it relates to web design
  • Develop a fundamental understanding of HyperLinks, HTML & CSS
  • Embed interactive and multimedia content onto a web page
  • Use and edit graphic images on web pages
  • Understand page layout and layers
  • Understand site navigation
  • Add a folder and pages and set the home page
  • Create head content and set page properties
  • Create, import, and format text
  • Add links to Web pages
  • Create, modify, and copy a navigation bar

About The Instructor
Percy Leon has worked in the computer industry for over 20 years and has both a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Master’s Degree in Education with an emphasis on Computer Science.  He has worked in a wide variety of computer areas including networking, database management and software development.  His past clients include among others, Pacific Software, Windsor Technologies, CMD Technology, PowerDyne, Inc., Unicon International, and the State of California where he designed, developed and maintained the NDDS network infrastructure and database systems.  Mr. Leon is certified as a Microsoft systems engineer and as a Sun Microsystems Java programmer.  For the past several years, he has been programming in Java, Flash, PhP and My Sql.
